Teachers are often privy to special rates and discounts with Verizon. Verizon Wireless is present throughout most of the United States as are its discount programs. The sheer number of teachers in the country amounts to some serious buying power and Verizon is happy to provide special rates.
Step 1
Contact your local school district to inquire about available discounts for teachers. If you live in a large city that has an online guide for educational personnel, check the website for information on what discounts exist and how to get them. Because school boards and districts are free to negotiate special rates independently with Verizon, your eligibility may depend on the deals that have been worked out in your area.
Step 2
Visit Verizon's Select Your Location page to check whether Verizon offers discounts in your area. Type your ZIP code or state then click the "Set Location" button below the selection boxes. The system will set to your location and refer you to all relevant and available discount programs in your area. You will be redirected to the Employee Discount Program page.
Step 3
Type your work email into the appropriate field. Retype the same email into the appropriate field. Click the "Check for Discounts" button just below the selection boxes. The system will check for available discounts matching your place of employment based on your work email address. If any exist they will be emailed to your work account along with links and explanations on how to move forward with the process.
Step 4
Walk into your local Verizon store or authorized Verizon Wireless dealer to ask about available teacher discounts. If you do not have access to a computer or prefer to undergo the process in person, local sales reps will be able to tell you what your options are and assist you in selecting a phone and service plan that are right for you.
